Authentic Storytelling

Every project remains just an idea until you secure the financial investment needed to bring it to life. I’m intimately familiar with this process, having had the privilege of financing my own projects while also collaborating with a wide range of financial investors over the years.

Filmmaking is a multifaceted journey, and no two projects are ever the same. Some come together quickly, while others can take years to secure the necessary funding to see them through. In the end, it’s the audience who decides whether or not you’ve succeeded.

For me, the most rewarding part of filmmaking is sitting in a theater and watching the audience experience the story. It’s one of the most valuable learning experiences. I’ll do it again and again, analyzing the moments where the film connected, and where something may have been lost in translation.

There are millions of writers crafting scripts across the globe, each with their own unique vision. As a film producer, the first step in the development process is to define what you want to create—and, just as importantly, why.

While I have a deep appreciation for arthouse films, as the founder of Blue Dragon Filmworks, my focus isn’t solely on creating art for art's sake. Every project our team evaluates must have strong commercial viability—one that can capture the attention of a wide audience while also having the potential to generate significant profit.

Quality is paramount, and it cannot be compromised.

The first step in our process is to either create or find a story that has never been told, though, realistically, that’s a rare occurrence. Therefore, we’re always searching for a unique angle on a story that has the potential to stand out.

Once we identify the right story, we secure the rights to it and move into the development phase. This is where we establish the film's budget and begin securing the necessary funding to hire the creative talent who align with our producers' vision and the project's goals.
